Our Team’s Accomplishments:

• We have worked to minimize your local municipal taxes. A combined municipal tax increase of 19.8 cents per $100 of assessed value over a FOUR year time frame compared to 35.5 cents over the prior THREE years before we took office. This is despite a 40% reduction in our Municipal Aid cuts over the last 4 years.
• We have made improvements to 20 different borough streets.
• We have achieved over $2.5 million in federal, state and county grant monies with another $2.1 million awarded to us in low interest long term loans.
• We have created redevelopment zone and rehabilitation zones throughout the borough including the former Pitman Hotel site and Pitman Armory site.
• We established the borough’s first Economic Development Committee in 2008
• We improved our borough’s water system by securing federal grant monies to replace a water tower and replace or update over 300 borough fire hydrants.
• We have worked closely with our Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Committee to help revitalize our Uptown Business District by attracting restaurants and shops that have made our town a destination location.
• We have created a “Five Year Tax Exemption and Abatement Law” that will allow residents and business owners to apply for tax exemptions for improvements on their properties for up to 5 years.
• We have updated over 50 borough ordinances that were out of compliance.
• We have worked with our police department to enact aggressive policies to deal with the issues of juveniles loitering on Broadway and other surrounding areas like Shertel Park and the grove area.
• We have restored our borough’s status with the Joint Insurance Fund, resulting in the availability of financial incentives to the borough.
